It reminded me of a movie. " it's a Wonderful Life. " We don't sell fancy drink We sell the drinks to people that want to get drunk fast . Food was good, finish my plate.

Breakfast was fantastic. Served quickly exactly as I ordered at such reasonable prices. Service was right on point with checking on you but also letting you enjoy your meal. Every seemed to be working like a well Oiled machine .

Good fish fry, not too bready with the batter. A tad too oily but good nonetheless. If you want the baked fish, show up early, that goes pretty fast

Nice, friendly place with a County, banquet hall feel. A welcome site for a hungry, city traveler. They offer a delicious Sunday breakfast buffet complete with biscuits and gravy! I would recommend this place to any one who wants a delicious, country meal!

Notice: Take this review with a grain of salt... (Some pun intended) I've always heard great things about this place for as long as I've known about it. I've just never been in to check it out. Any hoot, short story short coming back to madison from Fort. i said, "What the hell," So I went in there expecting it to be an older crowd & to No Surprise the only people in their retired 5+ years ago we're drinking coffee and talking about stories from back when they were younger. Which is awesome and to be expected at 9:00 a.m. Anyway, it took the fellow behind the bar a little while to even acknowledge my presence and after he did so he took care of closing people's tabs that had already left before he made his way over to me. I wanted a soda and some biscuits and gravy, its something simple, fast, and pretty hard to mess up. So after he came over to me he took my drink orders and then went around to do something else before he made his way back behind the bar to take my food order. So after he took my food ordered I noticed the cook open some stuff down yonder behind the kitchen which I assumed was the gravy portion of the meal it didn't take very long for me to hear the cook yell out "orders done"but I'm not sure if the bartender heard it or didn't hear it or heard it and decided that it could wait but about 6 minutes maybe 7 minutes went by and the cook said it again "order up" so after that it took him another three minutes or so to finally go back there and get it and by the time it came to my spot it was Luke warm at best. So I think that mine and probably a lot of the reviews of this place are subjective as different days of the week and different meal hours as well as night time social drinkers experience different atmospheres. So that in mind, I wasn't really disappointed about it. I think I just came in at the wrong time, or maybe after there was a huge breakfast rush, or that's just how it is on the weekdays I don't know at any rate my feelings were not hurt everybody was nice and the establishment was very clean and presentable. also, I'm not sure, but I think that I saw a big banquet room through a set of doors, which, from what I could see, looked pretty darn nice. All in all I think that I should give Nora's a second, maybe third shot with different agendas at different times, before I formulate a real opinion about my experiences. And to any readers of this review, whether good or bad for you, I'd suggest doing the same. At the end of my visit, Some fella came in knowing everybody(Pretty sure it was the owner) and slid a picture of a bunch of good ol boys in front of a young Nora's, between the two guys next to me. None of them could confirm a year. From what I saw, I'd be willing to bet it was pre ww2 .. So the place has a-LOT of history there, and I'm sure they deliver much better service than what I experienced.
